Car driver instruction
It doesn't matter how new or old your car is, nor how expensive or fast it is, nor even how many stars it has in the safety ratings, it's you, the driver, who determines how safe your car is.
Almost anyone can become a good driver, it's not a matter of reflexes, it's about responsibility, concentration, anticipation, patience and confidence.
Together these qualities go to make up a drivers attitude. It is this attitude that is essential to safe driving.
At Seamus walls school of Motoring we aim to develop these vital qualities, to develop your attitude as a safe driver, and to build your skills to the point where you are ready for the driving test, and beyond.
A common misconception amongst candidates is that because they have been driving for a few years, they will have no problem passing the test, this is not necessarily the case. There is often a very large difference between the perceived ability to drive and the actual ability to pass the driving test.
The standard of driving required to pass the driving test is very precisely defined. If you haven't been taught, and practiced, to this standard it really can be difficult to gain a pass.
I am often asked to "Just give me a couple of hours before the test an I'll be sound." At the end of the couple of hours, and often long before, I have to break it to the unfortunate driver that they have little or no chance of passing the test with their current standard of driving.
The main reason that so many drivers are failing the driving test (40%-45%) is not because the test is hard nor because the examiners are somehow at fault, but because candidates are simply not correctly prepared for the examination.
